What would you do with 608 Million

What would you do with $608,000,000. Today right now what would you spend it on, if you were working for the Government?

That is 19000 college educations at 4 year degree’s, should we lotto it? Or how about 121,600 trade school certificates two year degrees or how many new school busses…?

That is just about two dollars for each man woman and child in America, or let’s pick on the neediest and fix them up just a bit, say right now one time only we will fix every tooth of the elderly or needy.

Wonder what that children’s hospital could do with that much cash…..

Wonder how many roads or dams we could fix…

Couldn’t we almost make the US Mail free for about five years? ...Or for sure an ambulance ride or an ER visit or two.

How much does it cost for that vaccine for small pox?  Could that be almost wiped out with that kind of cash…?

The Department of Homeland Security is purchasing 1.6 billion bullets; it says most of it is for shooting range training for the law officers, and special contractors. Let me help you with the math just a bit, that is almost 5 bullets per living soul in America, give or take the few thousand that have been born since Valentines Day or when the request for bid was submitted.

Now a few points from our sponsors…

To put a bullet in a gun one must have a gun, how many guns will it take to shoot that many bullets, have you seen that new S & W .45 cal slick gun? It holds, what, 14 in the mag and one in the pipe or something like that, right? A law officer should know how to keep that safety on. With that 2 pound pull he better know where it is pointed at, right? I mean we are talking safety here, aren’t we?

Let’s talk SWAT teams, we got your back with the new mini M4, 20 round magazine firing a 5.56mm round; three round burst works best guys and gals she don’t kick up so three is all you need.

Oh hey, almost forgot the “Strikers” (Armored personnel carrier; the new version of it is built to withstand road side bombs) painted black for a fully armed and equipped 20 man team of your best ticket writers with more than a full day’s supplies worth of bullets and gear, we guarantee it will handle any thing form the old lady’s shopping cart, to any child making a pretend gun shape with his fingers, or any civil unrest at the bank. That three-round burst works.

Now back to our news desk if you will, let us tackle that word transparency just for a moment, how clear is the statement we care nothing more about helping, we are just selling a gun, doesn’t this just make you want to go out and buy one or two just to stay safe, you know when or if them hoodlums down the street act up.

I get the idea of protection,  surely I do, but how come those best ticket writers are not standing in the intersections directing traffic when the power goes out? There is, what, almost enough for each intersection? Okay at least every main inter section. What ever happened to all that about non-lethal weapons anyhow…? Oh yea that is right you got them, too, along with that fancy new cruiser from dodge. Tazers, stun guns, and an advanced computer system built into the car which has what? A supercharged engine and steel armor plates?

Is it just me or is our economy built on war, I mean if we are not in one, how long before we start one? Pretty soon it will be our only national product, if it isn’t already.

Oh that is right it is better to cut social programs than defense spending, right? How much is it going to cost for 1.6 billion bullets, anyhow at .38 cents each, or 608,000,000 million just on the bullets, you still have to buy those guns as well. That is more than they spend on social services isn’t it? Is that not more than what they claim is costing us too much???

This is not the US Military, this is the Homeland Security the NSA and our Armed Services purchases are not included.

This is just bullets for a gun in the hands of someone who is required to abide by the law or protect you in some way.

And someone a while back asked me if I was paranoid when I said they didn’t care. You think our senators our congressmen are thinking about your well-being? Really, do you? How do they sleep at night I wonder…?
